The TACTIC project, co-financed by EIT Urban Mobility, transforms urban logistics with greener last-mile solutions. With Barcelona and Métropole du Grand Paris as pilot cities, TACTIC promotes sustainable mobility and supports local trade, improving air quality and reducing congestion. The consortium held a live demo of the product and service on September 17th in Barcelona.

Mercatsaunclic is a Barcelona City Council project that digitalises the city’s markets. It makes it easier for Barcelona residents to access fresh, local products and promotes a more direct connection between citizens and the markets in their community. TACTIC expands this offer by incorporating sustainable delivery options, motivating citizens to adopt more responsible consumption habits. Currently, customers of Mercat de Provençals, TACTIC’s pilot market, can opt for green deliveries with zero-emission vehicles, promoting a positive change in the city’s air quality. In addition, two new charging points have been installed at the Mercat de Provençals: one for the electric van used by market traders and one for public access, encouraging electric and sustainable mobility.

Métropole du Grand Paris has placed a charging point, an electric van, and a cargo bike for traders and residents of Rueil-Malmaison, a town on the outskirts of Paris. Since the start of the project, the electric van has registered more than 8,300 reservations and travelled more than 187,000 km across the greater metropolitan area.

Live Demo at Mercat de Provençals

On September 17th, TACTIC organised a live demonstration event at Mercat de Provençals to showcase its eco-friendly logistics solutions. Attendees witnessed the full range of TACTIC’s offerings, including the e-cargo bike with a refrigerated box, the electric van available for merchants, and the newly installed charging stations.
